Yep, you heard me, interns. For their second consecutive year, my children will be interning at The House Of Mom. It's the most wonderful time of the year!
Skills gleaned from this amazing opportunity include but are not limited to:
Breakfast making and clean-up
Bathroom sanitation
Proper sweeping technique
Power dusting
Hospital corners
Sous chef skills
BBQ grilling operations
And my all time favorite, Laundry technology and organization!
Yep, you heard me, laundry! I'm getting giddy with anticipation. Any child who can undress a doll or put two legos together, or who can operate a remote control, ds, ipod or wii, navigate the inernet, netflix or complicated teacher bin sorting system can operate a washing machine and dryer.
It's an ambitious scheme to be sure. But they served their terms as interns last summer beautifully and we are determined to go for it again this year.
Does it take a little extra guidance on the part of The House of Mom? You bet, but this is my job - to teach them self sufficiency. I've had all year "off", now summer's here and I'm gearing up to get back to work.
Summer interns - one of the best things about summer!
